2. Research

Micro/Nano Energy SourcesWe focused on the modeling and optimization of kinetic energy harvesters based on piezoelectric effects and electromagnetic inductions. A MEMS piezoelectric harvester for vibration and wind energies was developed. Optimized low-frequency and broadband kinetic energy harvesters have been developed. To scavenge low speed air flow, our group designed a piezoelectric wind energy harvester enhanced by the interaction of vortex-induced-vibration and galloping for the first time.

Micro/Nano Fabrication TechnologyIn MEMS fabrication, we optimized the sputtering of AlN and developed a process flow to fabricate MEMS piezoelectric devices. In nano fabrication, we developed a process to fabricate hydrophobic surfaces on flexible substrates.
