Miao Yu  was born in Sichuan, China, in 1973. He received his Ph.D. from Instrument Science and Technology at Chongqing University in 2003. In 2003, he joined the College of Optoelectronic Engineering, Chongqing University, as a Lecturer, and in 2006 became a Professor. His current research interests include the intelligent structures and systems, smart materials and sensors, vibration isolation, gas detection, and logistics monitoring. Dr. Yu is an Academic Technology Leader of Chongqing Instrument Science and Technology, Director of the Magnetorheological Research Center of Chongqing University, Member of the Metrological Testing Instrument Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Metrology and Testing, Member of the Rheology Committee of the Chinese Society of Mechanics/Chemistry, and Chinese Society of Acoustics Member of Acoustics Special Committee, Senior Member of Chinese Society of Vibration Engineering, New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education (2007), Member of the Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Electromagnetic Rheology (ERMR), Executive Chairman of the 18th ERMR Conference, 15th National Rheology Executive Chairman of the Academic Conference, Highly Cited Scholars in China in 2020.
