Lei XIE, Ph.D, Associate Professor

Dr. Lei XIE was born in Hunan, China. He is an associate professor at College of Opto-electronic Engineering, Chongqing University, China. He received his Ph.D. degree from Chongqing University in Instrument Science and Technology. He studied as an exchange Ph.D. student at department of Aerospace Engineering in University of Maryland (UMD), USA in 2013-2015, with funding from the Chinese Scholarship Council and UMD. Dr. Xie became a faculty in Chongqing University in 2016 and has served as an associate professor since Sept 2018. He is a member of IEEE, and a senior member of Chinese Chemistry Society, China Mechanics Society and other 3 ones. Dr. Xie has published over 30 journal papers and holds 20 patents and 15 ones in examination. He has been in charge of scientific research projects such as one sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He received many rewards including the global top industrial design award, 2021 Red Dot Design Award: Best of the Best (Germany), for the work “Magnetic Fluid Demonstration Device”.
