Yong Zhou was born in Henan province, China, in 1988. He received the B.E. degree in Microelectronics from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), Chongqing, China, in 2009, and M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics and Optical Engineering from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 2011 and 2014, respectively.

In 2015, he joined the College of Optoelectronic Engineering, Chongqing University, as a Lecturer, and in 2017 became an Associate Professor. His current research interests include chemical and optical gas sensors and olfactory bionic system. He has published more than 50 scientific papers in the field of gas sensors as the first/corresponding author and been cited more than 1000 times.
